The Garrison Residents' Association is made up of volunteers. We are always looking for help and support, so please contact us if you have any areas of expertise that may help.
What we do includes but is not limited to the following:
- Ensuring the GRA Committee and the prospective Resident directors of the Shoebury Garrison Management Company and the Managing Agents work collectively for the good of the Estate despite Developer and Council delays to the promised hand over
- Continuing to fight housing development on the Old Gunners Park flood plain site
- Continually lobbying the Council and Ward Councillors over matters of concern
- Launching and maintaining our new web site and promoting the Garrison locally and nationally
- Working with the Coastal Communities Team to find a funded use for the Heritage Centre and an appropriate use for the Garrison Chapel
- We have ensured the owners, SET and the Heritage Lottery Fund do not develop a wedding venue in the heart of our community at the site of the Garrison Chapel – we will keep you updated on future developments
- Reviewing Traffic Management across the estate, particularly as plans to raise awareness of the Historic Structures and Coastal location develop.
- Ensuring the wheeled sports area, multi-use games area and tennis courts are managed and maintained
- Working closely with our Wild Life Trust park ranger to keep you informed
- Ensuring the use of our roads for public events by outside organisations is managed appropriately
